Welcome to Macon, Georgia.
Located 85 miles south of Atlanta, close to the middle of the state, Macon is lovingly nicknamed the “Heart of Georgia.” Of course, we’d like to think that our southern hospitality, beautifully preserved landmarks, and musical heritage may have something to do with it too.
Macon offers endless things to explore, such as the ancient Indian Mounds, Georgia’s largest collection of African American art, historic landmarks, and exhibits honoring hometown favorites: Little Richard, James Brown, Otis Redding, and The Allman Brothers. Every March the city hosts the International Cherry Blossom Festival—a 10-day celebration when hundreds of thousands of Yoshino cherry trees turn Macon into a cotton-candy pink paradise.
And, if you love to eat, Macon has every kind of cuisine under the sun, from seafood served with a view of Lake Tobesofkee to the best soul food you’ll ever taste.
Macon is a picture-perfect senior living location.
